Head of Production Operations and Supply Chain

We are building out our Operations function

After two years of R&D, we are getting close to launching our first product and naturally we are now looking to build out a solid operations function and leadership to build out production, supply chain, logistics and quality.

Why you should join us

  • You want the opportunity to work with truly differentiated food products that also contribute towards a healthier planet
  • The opportunity to come in early to own and set up production, logistics and supply chain from scratch, ready for rapid scaling, excites you, even though you have operated at much larger scale in the past
  • You are craving an innovative and fast paced environment and want to join an ambitious and purpose driven startup that is financially strong and ready to challenge the status quo

Your role

As we have grown to be innovative and cutting edge around research and product development, we now want to expand and balance this up with operational excellence and smooth operations. Your role will be to take lead and ensure we can smoothly produce and deliver our products.

This means taking lead on:

1- Production: Ensuring we find the best possible way to produce our various products today and in the future as we expand both product lines, volumes and geographically. What do we outsource and what capabilities do we build and own in-house.

2- Supply Chain: Source and secure ingredients and services from various partners balancing strong relationships, agility, quality and cost.

3- Logistics: Ensuring our ingredients and final products find the best possible routes to our production facility and our customers. This might be extra tricky considering our fresh and chilled product and shelf life challenges.

4- Quality: Ensuring the right product quality is achieved and maintained from production facility until the plate of our customers.

Being the first person in this position it will naturally both entail making high level and critical strategic decisions, and getting your hands dirty doing the hands on work, whatever it might be.

As we are expecting to grow rapidly, we are well aware that this position will be critical to ensure we can meet customer demand. We want to initially optimise for speed to market and over time, optimise our margins. As the business and our products grow through different phases, you will constantly rethink our goals and strategies to find the best possible setup around operations.

Naturally, you will collaborate with external stakeholders such as third party manufacturers and suppliers, as well as internal key functions such as R&D and commercial.

It's also worth noting that being the first person in this function there will be plenty of opportunities to shape the role as the organisation grows to larger scale and internationally. It's also worth mentioning that we have a production partner in place for our first product, which will be launched in first half of 2021.

In this position you will report to myself (Sorosh Tavakoli, CEO), be part of the management team and naturally work very closely with the product, R&D and finance team.

Who you are

You don’t have to be vegan, actually none of us are 100% strict about it, but we do expect you to have solid experience within operations, production, logistics, supply chain and quality. Having worked in both small and big businesses will be helpful, as well as within the consumer goods universe. We also believe knowledge of and/or experience from working with foods, and especially perishables, is invaluable.

You probably have been highly strategically, as well as operationally involved. You know best practices, procedures and ways of working, and have good understanding of the opportunities and challenges in production. Also, knowledge in lean production will help, as well as a degree in engineering/supply chain management/operations/economics, or equivalent.

This is a down-to-earth environment with sky high ambitions. So to do well, we believe you are a good communicator in both Swedish and English, and outstanding at stakeholder management. You are probably highly analytical and have a methodical and data driven approach. At the same time, you are a level headed and trustworthy problem solver and team player ready to handle whatever challenges we might face.
